  arrived aboard the Barque Ellen, at the age of 17.5 years. Arrived New Zealand, as Lt Govenor on the ship Glentanner. Returned to England. Having completed his appointment in New Zealand. His wife and two children accompanied Edward John Eyre. Went to St Vincent, West Indies as Lt Govenor Returned to England. After the rebellion in Jamacia West Indies Returned to England, for holiday taking his wife back due to ill health.
