    • One Hundred Years, The Delaware County National Bank Chester, PA 1814-1914
      William Eyre (1823, '32, '42), son of Isaac and Ann (Pusey) Eyre, was born at Chester, March 22, 1771. He was a farmer, his plantation being on the Southern Post road, in Lower Chichester,
      a short distance east of the present village of Trainer.
      In 1830, he was County.Auditor, and the same year was appointed County Treasurer, serving as such until and including 1833. In 1835, he served for a second time as County
      Auditor, and in 1838, as County Treasurer, acting as such until May, 1840, when he resigned. His nephew, William Eyre, Jr., son of his brother, Jonas Eyre, was appointed to serve the unexpired
      term of his uncle.
      William Eyre died May 29, 1859, aged 88 years.
